When driving at night, the brightness and high visiblity of the FL display can interfere with night-vision, so models with Flip-down panel display mechanism and most higher-end models are equipped with Display Off mode. Continued ease of operation is assured with the Auto On function : the display automatically illuminates for approximately five seconds any time a control operation is performed.
Kenwood's original Supreme technology is incorporated in WMA / MP3 compatible receivers to compensate for the high-frequency loss that occurs when audio files are compressed, particularly at low bit rates. Kenwood's top end models incorporate a high-performance 24-bit DAC featuring low crosstalk between left and right channels, high resolution and crystal-clear sound reproduction with extremely low noise. In particular, this new DAC divides the amplitude direction of the signal into 64 levels and reduces amplitude level, allowing effective suppression of noise both inside and outside the signal band. The result is reproduction of fine tones unnoticeable with previous DACs.
